SUMMARY The National Business Development Manager will secure new corporate client relationships while maintaining and growing current corporate relationships.
This role assists in facilitating the proposal process for specific clients including budget and pricing development, contract negotiations and client presentations.
This is a professional sales position and relevant sales experience is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Establishes and maintains new and on-going client relationships with the various customers to bring in revenue opportunities.
Mine applicable data sources to find and secure new customers via cold calling.
Use knowledge of services to communicate and promote services to clients/customers.
Schedule and Conduct “Lunch and Learns” to drive sales.
Develop deep client relationships and resolve customer disputes, as needed.
Monitors customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
Consults with Upper Management to plan advertising and to secure information on customer specifications.
Plans and coordinates company-sponsored and company-hosted events.
Participates at job site when needed.
Participates in and represents the company at annual trade shows.
Participates in staff meetings and sales team meetings periodically.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS Competencies Must have strong drive and be self-sufficient in securing opportunities.
Must be self-driven and have strong organizational skills.
Must be a self-starter.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of customers and management.
Computer literacy and literacy of an applicable CRM.
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30am to 3:30pm to maintain full-time status.
On a weekly basis, 10% of the time spent in this role is spent in the office focusing on office/administrative duties and 90% is spent on customer interactions.
This position will be predominantly self-managed with the potential to work from home.
This position will be required to be very driven and a self-starter that is aggressive in seeking new opportunities.
Travel Heavy travel is expected for this position.
Up to 75% expected.
Preferred Education and Experience Professional Sales experience of a minimum of 3-5 years required.
Experience in the environmental, industrial cleaning, or waste and disposal services is required.
Experience in the Hoovers Database (Duns & Bradstreet) or other data mining services is preferred but not required.
Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system such as Salesforce is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent Computer and Organizational skills required.
Understanding of business principles and practices including margins and profit to help tailor opportunities is preferred.
