We are seeking an energetic, person to work in a a fast-paced environment as an billing and insurance specialist.
The position is responsible for posting payments received from patients, commercial and government payors.
Identify rejected claims and non-payment claims to work for resolution.
This position requires punctuality, the ability to work unsupervised, and a positive attitude.
Candidate must understand medical insurance procedures.
Ophthamology experience is a plus.
Qualifications
· Experience working accounts receivables from a broad range government and commercial payors, as well as third party administrators.
· Experience interpreting standard payor coding, specifically denial reason codes, on commercial and government payor’s EOBs.
· The ability to utilize various tools necessary to resolve claim denials and/or underpayments.
These tools include but are not limited to payor portals, billing intermediaries, and phone calls to payors.
· Knowledge of submitting corrected claims, claim reconsiderations and, when needed, formal appeals to a broad range of payors.
· Working knowledge of ICD-10 coding.
· The ability to identify and determine the root causes of payor denial trends.
· Knowledge of the electronic claim submission process and how to recognize and resolve a rejected claim due to NCCI edits, incorrect demographic information, termed coverage, etc.
· The candidate should be able to notate the payor accounts accurately and concisely in our medical software system.
· Candidates should have two or more years’ experience in medical claims resolution or medical billing.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, is preferred
