Director of People Operations

The Director of People Operations is responsible for the development, implementation, and strategic direction of people and culture initiatives, ensuring the consistency of best practices while remaining innovative in their approach.
This individual will champion the needs of the employee, as well as proactively nurture company-wide growth.
This individual will also be responsible for company-wide training as well as recruitment, employment, retention of employees and research of our markets.
Responsibilities include analyzing training needs, developing curriculum, and coordinating the delivery of training for all organizational needs.
Additional responsibilities include managing placement, training and performance of employees to ensure the availability of qualified applicants to meet the needs of construction operations while ensuring low turnover.
The role requires a strong demonstrated capability and track record in building and driving all People Ops functions in a fast-paced and high-growth environment, and driving innovative improvements to the employee experience.
Key Role Responsibilities Provide leadership and support to all employees by embodying the RGGC core values Work with department heads to draft job descriptions for openings Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new benefits and perks; monitoring similar job offers and compensation practices Recruit and hire by developing and implementing best practices for hiring first-class talent Collaborate with marketing team to create digital recruitment tools Facilitate initial onboarding for all new hires Develop/Coordinate training programs (outsourced or in-house) Coordinates with the team to identify skills or knowledge gaps that would then require training and development Develop and lead a performance review strategy and manage performance reviews for the entire team that correlates with annual compensation plans Provide recommendations to senior leadership in relation to compensation by actively and regularly conducting market research Assess and track succession planning and talent readiness Develop and deliver programs for professional development for all levels of staff Manages employment relations issues and provides general coaching to managers/leaders; guides leaders to have timely, critical conversations and ensures the management of conflict Keep senior leadership informed of significant people and management problems that may jeopardize company goals Resolve personnel issues; act as trusted advisor to all levels of staff Reviews, guides and approves management recommendations for employment terminations Conduct exit interviews to determine if corrective action may retain valued staff or help redirect future negative trends Administrator of all HR policies, including: benefits, payroll, employee handbook, guidelines, HR records, including new hire/termination/pay increase paperwork, etc.
Manage compliance with key rules and regulations Manage and direct efforts of office administration staff to ensure smooth internal operations and maintenance of the workspace Design employee engagement initiatives including management of employee information systems, surveys, fun events Manage employee records in accordance with applicable laws (annual internal audits) Recommend policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local standards and regulations Maintain Employee Handbook Instinctive qualities necessary: Warm, hospitable and start with the heart attitude Dynamic and creative Easily connect, encourage and promote our employees' craftsmanship and celebrate the character within each employee Build an environment of trust and openness Invest in the development of others and lead with inspiration Leverage the culture to garner results Promote a climate of fairness and trust Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills A self-driven individual with a drive to make an impact Highly Desired Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources preferred) Strong experience in organizational design, organizational effectiveness and engagement Demonstrated experience in people management, developing and implementing strategic initiatives Ability to unify a team around a common goal Able to establish and maintain partnerships and relations throughout the organization Ability to identify risks and barriers to success of plan or mission Credibility to influence employees, peers and executive management Negotiation skills with the ability to establish relationships in a manner that will inspire confidence and trust The goal of the Director of People Operations is to expand our training and enablement programs to identify talent, build on their current skills and expand their ability to impact the business.
