The Advisory Manager- State Healthcare is responsible for planning, completing, and managing all phases specific to specialty audit and/or agreed upon procedure engagements.
Exercises leadership through knowledge and technical ability and/or assigned supervisory responsibilities.
Facilitates training and staff development activities including providing oversight to seniors, staff, and interns.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other specialization is required.
• A CPA or CIA designation is preferred, but not required.
• 5+ years of relavant experience is required.
• 3+ years management experience is required.
• Prior experience with state Medicaid/Health & Human Services is preferred.
• Project management capability and self-discipline to complete and finalize engagements and open items.
• Highly organized and capable of performing multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrate effective leadership skills.
• Experience with CCH Practice Management software.
• High degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Technical proficiency with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products or similar software applications.
• May be required to work extended hours during the work week or weekends as needed.
• May be required to travel and work from different company and/or client locations.
Responsibilities • Directs and manages field work on assigned engagements from engagement planning to completion, including responsibility for timely and accurate status reports, completion of work paper review including self-review, engagement follow-up of open items, monitoring of the completion of assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner (e.
g.
engagement file completion, engagement binder closing, completion of reports, completion of staff evaluations, etc.
), and other similar items.
• Participates in business development activities including development of pursuit plans/pipeline activities, provides recommendations to leadership for growth opportunities in key focus areas, client relationship development, program-specific positioning activities, team/resource arrangements, proposal preparation, presentations, and contract negotiations consistent with established business development processes.
• Communicates with supervisors and staff personnel, identifies technical issues, identifies issues and/or concerns and other similar items.
• Communicates with client(s) and other specified parties related to the audit and/or agreed upon procedure engagements.
• Monitors workload to meet billable hour and realization expectations and to ensure efficient scheduling of staff.
• Provides/assists with the internal and on-the-job training of staff members.
• Identifies opportunities to provide additional services to clients and/or non-clients.
• Research accounting and auditing issues as appropriate.
• Apprises engagement Associate Director/Partner of status of engagement and other pertinent aspects of engagement.
• Ensures engagement procedures comply with professional requirements and identifies efficiencies.
• Maintains the required CPE for firm and licensing standards.
• Builds and maintains trusted relationships with diverse group of clients, team members and subject matter experts.
• Documents procedures performed, findings or other issues, draft/compile reports and correspondence.
Other Duties: • Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties.
Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
• Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, and work processes.
Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
• May assist co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service and demonstrating team work skills.
Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
• Perform other services as assigned.
Other Considerations: • May periodically travel and work from different company locations.
• May be required to work overtime, and/or on weekends as needed.
• Must arrive at EisnerAmper offices or client locations in a timely manner and be ready to perform job responsibilities.
