Essential Job Functions
Provide strategic planning and oversight of the organization’s financial position and outlook.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting, finance, and tax operations.
Ensures the maintenance of financial and accounting records and recordkeeping systems, including grant/fund accounting, to ensure compliance with all regulations, accepted accounting practices (“GAAP”), and contractual requirements.
Responsible for overseeing organization wide and departmental budget development.
Monitor actual spending vs.
budgeted spend and routinely provide reports to ED and Board of Directors.
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements to ensure that the ED and appropriate Board of Directors are apprised of the organization’s financial health.
Manage the invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payables, and payroll functions.
Oversee banking activities and actively manage cash flow to ensure it meets the organization’s needs.
Monitor investment and cash management accounts, complete appropriate journal entries, and create reports.
Identify areas of opportunity to streamline financial processes and develop actions plans to address these areas of opportunity.
Monitor changes in legal, regulatory, and administrative environments and implement changes in procedures as needed to maintain compliance while maximizing operational and financial results.
Manage liability insurance accounts.
Serve as the primary liaison with its independent Auditor to ensure the annual audits are completed smoothly and in a timely manner.

Financial Planning and Analysis:
Manage budgeting process for programmatic initiatives and grant budgets.
Perform financial analysis and maintain financial models to support business decisions.
Assist in organizational budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
Review of financial reports due on grants to funders.
Required Education, Experience, or Eligibility Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
A master’s degree in business administration is preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and tax in a non-profit agency with 3+ years of experience managing the accounting and finance functions at a non-profit with a $1 million or more operating budget.
Knowledge of specialized accounting related to grants, medical facilities, pharmaceutical trials, and similar transactional activities.
Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
Knowledge of accepted accounting practices (“GAAP”) and accounting, finance, and tax regulations.
Thorough knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations.
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge and QuickBooks.

Strong leadership skills that enable communication of the organizational vision and continued advancement of programs, staff, and community partners, driving development of strategic goals.
Strong working knowledge of Office 365 Suites in addition to moderate technical skills to provide input regarding database structure for best outcome measure results.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations.
Skilled in verbal and written communications.
Exceptional time management and organizational proficiency.
Must have a valid LA Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.
