*Title III Program Coordinator* *FLSA Classification* Non-Exempt *Salary Range/Grade * Salary Range: Commensurate with experience *Reports to* Executive Director of Title III *Job Description * *Summary/objective* The Title III Program, formerly known as the Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities Program (Part B), and commonly referred to as the Formula Grant Program, was first introduced to the Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) campus in 1967.
For more than 50 years, SUNO has been a recipient of Title III funds, which has helped the university establish and strengthen its academic programs and services, student development efforts, faculty development enhancements, information technology initiatives, physical plant improvements, and financial management support.
Title III programmatic funding helps to improve University programs, management and educational opportunities for students by providing financial assistance via federal grants and other funding sources.
Title III funds continue to allow the University to fulfill its mission of empowering and promoting the upward mobility of all of our students through excellent academic programs and service.
The Title III Program Coordinator assists the Executive Director on all matters regarding the Title III Programs and works closely with activity directors and provides training/workshops in regards to the development of program goals, measurable objectives, performance indicators, effective implementation strategies, and in preparing quantitative and qualitative reports, etc.
\*This position is funded 100% by the Title III-B, Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) federal grant.
As such, the Technical Writer assists the Director with implementing the objectives established in the Title III Program for this federally-funded activity.

_ · Gathers data and assists in preparing the Title III Program Applications and various Title III reports.
· Monitors of Title III program activities.
· Provides one on one support to activity directors and staff and makes periodic visits to the activity sites.
· Preparing the regular Title III Newsletter.
· Coordinates and updates the Title III policies and procedures manual.
· Provides Title III workshops for writing and implementing effective grant programs.
· Keeps abreast of legislation related to the Title III program, · Assists activity directors in the preparation of their Title III proposals/continuation applications to include writing measurable objectives and reports.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
*Competencies * · Strong analytical skills.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects/activities, problem solve, and make effective decisions.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Knowledge of GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards and governmental or fund accounting.
· Knowledge and expertise in interpreting regulations, applying regulations to sponsored or other programs, and conveying the information verbally and in writing.
· Experience problem-solving within a complex sponsor, state, or federal regulatory environment.
· Experience working with large and/or complex financial accounting systems.
· Proficiency in Excel, including ability to design clear and adaptable spreadsheets.
*Required education and experience* · Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
· Five years of experience in program coordination, management or related areas.
*Preferred education and experience* · Master's Degree in related fields, including but not limited to economics, business management, and/or communications.
· Experience with Title III processes and procedures.
· Experience managing financial accounts and complex grant budgets.
· Ability to multi-task, work cooperatively, and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in project organization and management, including federal funding agencies.
· Experience coordinating programmatic activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling, and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources for achieving Title III program goals.
· Experience generating annual reports summarizing grant expenditures and progress toward programmatic goals.
