Empire Gymnastics is seeking gymnastics coaches to join our growing team! We are looking to fill a variety of coaching positions, including preschool, tumbling, and girls’ & boys’ recreational instructors.
Ideal candidates must love working with kids and demonstrate a commitment to the gym’s overall success.
Candidates must exemplify our core principles and embody the gym’s values of personal growth and development- not just for our students but for themselves as well! A background, experience, or familiarity with gymnastics would be great but NOT necessarily required.
We are always willing to train the right candidates; anyone with the right motivation & attitude can become a great coach to positively impact a young person’s life! *General Responsibilities:* * Arriving early before classes begin to get familiarized with the day’s gym rotation schedule * Arriving early before classes to review the day’s lesson plans as set by the Program Directors * Instructing gymnastics classes for kids between the ages of 18 months – 12 years old * Ensuring student safety by checking apparel, hair, & jewelry before class starts * Following the lesson plans & curriculum created while keeping in mind the monthly theme, focus, & personal development goals for students * Incorporating games & individual coaching styles into lesson plans to make them unique, fun, & memorable * Providing individualized instruction & feedback to students in a positive, constructive manner aimed at improving their physical abilities as well as shaping their mental, emotional, & social wellbeing * Adapting coaching styles & modifying lesson plans based on the physical, developmental, mental, & emotional needs of individual students * Properly supervising classes, demonstrating skills, & physically spotting students in the appropriate manner to ensure safety & minimize the risk of injury * Sharing in students’ excitement as they do a new skill for the first time * Being encouraging & supportive as students take on new challenges * Ensuring students get to their parents/guardians safely at the end of each class * Regularly communicating with parents/family members before & after classes about their students * Providing excellent customer service & building long-lasting relationships with students & families to promote a sense of community & continuing enrollment * Properly recording attendance in our class management system at the end of each class * Cleaning up stations at the end of the shift & placing mats back in their appropriate spots in the gym * Reporting to the office manager when a student is ready to move up * Being a team player & willing to substitute classes for other coaches if needed * Ensuring a safe space for students as well as maintaining a positive, supportive, & inclusive learning environment * Enforcing all facility policies, rules, & regulations with all recreational students & family members * Attending all mandatory staff meetings & participating in staff training/spotting clinics * Helping maintain the cleanliness of the gym, lobby, & bathrooms by picking up trash inside & outside the facility & changing out trash cans if full or foul-smelling *Required Qualifications:* * Thrive on helping others succeed – both with athletes & co-workers * A passion for building relationships & positively influencing youth through movement & positive mentorship * A sincere love for working with kids * Patience & the ability to work with children of all ages * Willingness to learn & receptive to feedback * Strong work ethic with an initiative to learn, help out, & provide feedback & suggestions to grow our programs * Strong organizational skills * Excellent written communication skills * Effective verbal communication skills to connect with students, parents, & co-workers * Ability to work well under pressure * Ability to adhere to schedules * Enthusiastic, positive, & energetic personality * Professional, friendly demeanor * Ability to work well in a team in a collaborative coaching environment * Must be able to maintain a consistent schedule * Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, & climb to assist students * Must have reliable transportation & commit to punctuality *Preferred But NOT Required:* * Previous sports experience * Knowledge or familiarity with gymnastics, dance, and/or cheerleading * Background and/or education in fitness/sports science *Job Type/Expected Hours & Schedule:* * Part-Time or Full-Time * Monday – Friday 3:00 - 7:30 PM * Saturday 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM * Additional opportunities to earn money with private lessons, camps, & KNO events * Weekend availability *Pay Range:* * $10.
