Position Title: Project Manager
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: New Orleans, LA
Employment Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance of contract personnel, systems and processes for Janitorial Services within the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Contract Oversight: Ensure all janitorial services meet the contract specifications, including cleaning, sanitation, waste management, and special project services across various locations within the health care system.
Staff Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of janitorial staff, ensuring they meet the VA's standards for professionalism, conduct, and service quality.
This includes providing or overseeing training in VA protocols, safety standards, and specific cleaning requirements as outlined in the contract.
Quality Control: Implement and manage a quality control program to ensure services meet the required standards, including regular inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain documentation as required for quality assurance and contract compliance.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all OSHA safety regulations, VA policies, and industry best practices for janitorial services within a healthcare environment.
This includes managing the safe handling of infectious medical waste and ensuring the health and safety of both staff and facility occupants.
Client Relations: Serve as the primary liaison between Aldevra LLC and VA administration, attending meetings, addressing concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure effective communication and timely resolution of issues.
Resource Management: Manage the procurement and allocation of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring their efficient use and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with the VA's guidelines for government-furnished equipment and supplies.
Security and Access: Manage the distribution and return of building access keys to janitorial staff, ensuring security protocols are followed.
Immediately address any security breaches or lost key incidents in accordance with VA policies.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement contingency plans for emergency situations, ensuring continuity of services under all conditions.
This includes preparing for natural disasters, pandemics, and other unforeseen events.

Requirements: Security Requirements: Must be able to obtain VA Badge.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
If no formal education, 10 years of experience or PMP certification can substitute degree.
Relevant certifications in project management, facility management, or environmental services are a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing large-scale janitorial or facility maintenance contracts, preferably in healthcare or government settings.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, infection control practices, and environmental cleaning standards in healthcare settings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with VA administration and staff.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Background check clearance and adherence to VA security policies.
Familiarity with VA procedures and requirements for janitorial services contracts is highly desirable.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the facility's operational needs.
Must pass a background check and comply with VA security requirements.
Valid driver's license Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner Excellent and accurate written communication Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required.
Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethics.
