We are in Westwego, Louisiana and serve the needs of many in the food industry in our region.
The Facility Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining the sanitation standards of our company, which include food industry and safety regulatory standards.
*A normal day at Matrana’s Produce is extremely fast paced.
The Sanitation Technician follows daily inspection and cleaning checklists of the facility, which include the warehouse, the office, breakrooms/eating quarters, restrooms, light outside/grounds duties, and all other duties assigned.
*The ideal Sanitation Technician is hardworking, physically active, self-motivating, aware of surroundings (safety-minded), has strong communication skills, and upholds our appearance and professional conduct guidelines/policies.
*Cleaning and General Sanitation of Facility (Cold-Storage Food Facility) * * Responsible for cleaning various areas of the warehouse to uphold cleanliness standards * Knows of various cleaning products and when to use them * Cleans and disinfects various surfaces * Moves furniture and pallets around to properly clean and sanitize.
Able to lift and move at least 50 pounds * Washes and cleans windows and mirrors * Performs all duties in safety compliance manner * Sweeps and mops outside shipping and receiving docks * Assists maintenance crew perform duties as needed * Dusts furniture and fixtures * Performs special assignments as needed * Performs minor sanitation equipment, machinery, and tool repairs and preventative maintenance *Refuse/Trash Disposal * * Empties disposes, transports trash regularly to maintain a clean and sanitary workspace * Cleans and sanitizes receptacles *Sweeping, Mopping, Vacuuming, and Sanitizing Floor/Grounds * * Responsible for cleaning floors routinely using a mop, broom, and floor scrubber * Completes duty in a timely manner * Operates equipment in a safe manner *Restroom and Breakroom Maintenance * * Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas according to established standards * Refills supplies routinely and often *Supply Management * * Monitors and replenishes cleaning supplies to ensure adequate stock levels; assists in maintaining inventory of janitorial supplies *Safety and Reporting Compliance * * Knows procedures and standards; complies with health and safety standards * Documents routine inspections and activities * Assists with the completion of daily logs and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as CGMP standards and OSHA regulations * Ensures a secure working environment * Notifies supervisors of safety hazards, unsafe conditions, or repair needs *Requirements * * Completes time-sensitive tasks daily * Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals * Safely operates electric pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and other equipment * Ability to lift and move heavy objects; as well, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team * Flexibility to work during non-standard hours or weekends as needed * Be composed under pressure and have a positive attitude * High school or equivalent G.
